Spring is right around the corner, and that means itā€™s time to start planning for your new flock! Whether youā€™re a seasoned chicken keeper or bringing home chicks for the first time, getting your orders in early is more important than ever this year.Ā Availability is limited, and popular breeds tend to sell out quicklyā€”so donā€™t wait!

šŸ“… Place Your Chick Order Soon!

Due to the way weā€™re ordering chicks this year, some breeds may be unavailable or in short supply. We recommend placing your order as soon as possible to increase your chances of getting exactly what you want.

āœ… Minimum Order Requirement:Ā There is a 5-chick minimum per breedĀ this year, so plan accordingly!

āœ… Pick-Up Reminder:Ā Once your chicks arrive, weā€™ll call youā€”all orders must be picked up by 5:00 PM that day.

āœ… Pre-Payment Encouraged:Ā To make pick-up quick and easy, we ask that you pre-pay for your chicks in advance. Give us a call to take care of payment at your convenience!

šŸ„ 4-H Families ā€“ Weā€™ve Got Your Back!

If youā€™re ordering chicks for a 4-H projectĀ and canā€™t find what you need, donā€™t stress! Give us a call, and weā€™ll make your order a priority.Ā We know how important your poultry projects are, and weā€™ll do everything we can to help you get the chicks you need.

šŸ„š Basic Chick Care ā€“ Be Ready for Your New Arrivals!

Bringing home chicks is an exciting experience, but proper preparation is key! Here are the essentials for happy, healthy chicks:

šŸ”¹ Warm Brooder Setup:Ā Chicks need a heat source! A heat lamp or brooder plate should keep the area 90-95Ā°FĀ for the first week, then decrease by 5Ā°F per weekĀ until theyā€™re fully feathered.

šŸ”¹ Fresh Water & Quality Feed:Ā Provide clean, fresh waterĀ at all times and start them on a high-quality chick starter feedĀ for proper growth.

šŸ”¹ Bedding & Space:Ā Use pine shavings for bedding and ensure at least Ā½ square foot per chickĀ for comfort.

šŸ”¹ Watch for Health Issues:Ā Keep an eye out for pasty butt, weak chicks, or signs of illness. A clean, warm environment helps prevent common problems.
